The SVP operates three Soup Run services in Brighton, Central London and Clacton-on-Sea. These provide hot drinks, sandwiches, biscuits and other food, and blankets to people living on the streets.
The service is not just about food provision. It is about meeting up with people and personal interaction as much as anything else.
During 2009/2010, 16,271 people were assisted. The projects were supported by 184 volunteers, committing an average of 150 voluntary hours each week. The SVP soups runs are always keen to receive donations of goods, funds and volunteer support.
